Opportunities to engage your employees in giving

Corporate Giving

These days, customers want to know that the companies they do business and shop with don’t just provide good service, but that they also do good in their communities. United Way is uniquely positioned to help employers create economic value that also adds social value. It’s called shared value, with a central premise that a company’s competitiveness and the health of the communities around it are interdependent.

When you become a United Way business partner, you will receive recognition on our website and social media. Additionally, we will provide you with digital and print assets that you can use to let your customers know you are a proud United Way partner. We make it easy for you to tell the story of your charitable giving.

We encourage you to get in touch with us to discuss how the United Way can help you meet your business and philanthropic goals through becoming a recognized partner. Send us an email or reach out to any member of our Board of Directors for more information.

You can also make a direct donation using the steps outlined in the section above for individual donors.

Workplace Campaign

The United Way Workplace Campaign is a unique national model that brings together business and individual giving for maximum impact, right in your home community. While you can become a United Way business partner without engaging in a Workplace Campaign, the Campaign truly amplifies the community impact your business can make by engaging your most important assets – your employees.

The Workplace Campaign brings your team together for a cause. Whether you are a small or large business, the impact you can make through collective giving is substantial.

How does the Workplace Campaign work?

The Campaign raises funds through ongoing payroll deductions. Employees pledge an amount to give each paycheck – from as little as $5. The business deducts this amount each paycheck and passes the donation on to the United Way on an agreed upon schedule.

What is required of my business to participate?

When you sign up to host a Workplace Campaign at your business, our Board will work directly with your leadership and human resources staff to create a process that works for your business.

Typically, a business identifies internal champions to lead the campaign. United Way Board members are invited in to make presentations to employees about the impact of collective giving and the great work United Way facilitates in the community to help encourage employees to participate.

How can the Workplace Campaign have an impact?

The Workplace Campaign is the perfect example of the saying, “a little goes a long way.”
